Automation consultant · Process Analysis

Find out what is worth automating before you build it.

Not every repetitive task deserves an automation. ShadowThread maps the process, identifies the highest-value opportunities and gives you a practical recommendation before implementation starts.

01 · MAP

Understand the current workflow

Document the steps, systems, people, inputs, outputs, approvals and recurring exceptions that make the process work today.

02 · PRIORITISE

Find the right opportunities

Separate genuinely repetitive work from tasks that still need judgement, and rank opportunities by practical impact and effort.

03 · RECOMMEND

Define what should change

Recommend where automation fits, what should remain human-controlled and what the implementation needs to connect.

04 · BUILD

Turn the decision into a working workflow

If there is a clear case for automation, the analysis can move directly into implementation with the process already understood.

Good candidates

Look for work that is repeated, structured and easy to drop.

✓ Happens frequently enough to matter
✓ Follows identifiable rules or stages
✓ Moves information between systems
✓ Creates repeated admin or follow-up
✓ Has a clear owner and measurable outcome

When not to automate

Sometimes the right answer is leave it alone.

We won't recommend automation simply because a task can technically be automated. Work that is rare, unstable, highly judgement-based or cheaper to handle manually may not justify the complexity.

  • Rare or unpredictable processes
  • Processes that are still changing every week
  • Decisions requiring significant human judgement
  • Low-volume work with little measurable benefit

Start with one process.
